Photos from 1994/1995

February 12th, 2007

I’m currently scanning some old photos like the ones I took in the south of England in 1995. So far so good, but really, the scanner I’m using isn’t all for negatives. I think there are far better ones.

Video for the VLC

December 20th, 2006

This is a video I made together with Marc Melzer and Daniel Schmidt for the Virtual Linguistics Campus. As long as WordPress doesn’t really support XHTML 1.0 Strict, you will need to go to YouTube to see more

kuler

November 17th, 2006

Adobe Labs has featured a couple of interesting applications and ideas in the last couple of months. And now here’s this:

Have you never been quite comfortable with the color theme of your homepage? Here’s a little help from Adobe Labs: kuler

kuler lets you create your own theme, publish it for others, and download it as Adobe Swatch Exchange file. It’s quite a nice tool, one of those that you have ever wanted.

Using DIVs to Simulate Framesets

October 31st, 2006

This tutorial will show you how to use DIVs to simulate a frameset. Framesets are often problematic in terms of accessibility, however, they provide a simple way to structure a web document visually. Using DIVs in a specific manner can help to achieve both, a clear visual structure and high accessibility.

See the result of this tutorial.

Required knowledge: XHTML, CSS, How to create a transparent GIF (or use the one provided).

Interesting Links #2

October 24th, 2006

  1. Want to see a stunning interface? Jonathan Yuen’s portfolio
  2. I saw on k10k today that Mr Gregory Durrell has updated his site. I had just added him in my Links section a few weeks ago and I must say, if I hadn’t done already, I would have to do it now, no doubt.

Oh, and update if you want to. Or change your browser you should…
