Hey, a couple of things happened here. Yes, it’s the all new layout and design of my website. Plus: Dorky Design is somewhat dead and I will be working as a freelance designer in my own name.

Ob man die beiden als Mädchennamen benutzen darf? Wahrscheinlich nicht… Egal, will ich sowieso nicht machen, die Überschrift habe ich aus einem anderen Grund gewählt: Ikea hat einen neuen Katalog herausgegeben und alles ist in Verdana gesetzt. Früher war’s eine angepasste Version der Futura. Noch mal zum Vergleichen (ich hab einfach die Futura genommen, die ich auf der Platte habe, wahrscheinlich stimmt’s nicht 100%ig):

I received an e-mail today that I participated in a poll at the beginning of this year. No, not what you think. It wasn’t spam, I really participated. I would like to recommend that you take a look at its outcome. It is called “Nen Rolli hatte ich noch nie” and is a Zwischenprüfungsprojekt by Alex Ketzer (I’ve forgotten from which university). There are some web design issues concerning the web site, but the book looks really great.

My friend Astrid told me about a sweet little shop run by her and a friend in which they sell some of their stuff. If you’re into nice and simple illustrations with a funny twist or warm scarves which look like a fox or rabbit, then this is for you.

I’m not writing as much as I would like to write in this blog. This is mainly because of the work I do at the University of Marburg and the courses I teach there. So here is a post about exactly that: the courses that I teach in summer semester, New Media in Foreign Language Education and Presenting Content.
The first one is supported by a blog I keep especially for the course and an online course at the VCT. The second is also a blended learning course with its online component at the VCT. Both are starting next week and therefore I will be off in a moment to go on preparing them

Aaaah! Finally.
Today sees the launch of the new portal of the Virtual Center for Teacher Training. Actually, it looks like the old one, but ask our programmer and he will tell you how much work he put in there.
Inform yourself about the site and its new features at the VCT.

The courses I will teach in winter semester 2008/2009 are now online and ready to be signed up for (if you have registered for them already via the online Vorlesungsverzeichnis of the uni). I will teach the following courses (class pages in the Virtual Center for Teacher Training):
Additionally, I will be part of a group of three to teach the course “Techniques of Scientific Work”, which will be an online course with four in class session throughout the semester.
The New Media in FLE course is also accompanied by another blog I will keep for this course only, which is hosted at WordPress.com.

I’ve added a new section to my Portfolio called Typeface. In the last months I have used FontStruct to create some typefaces. Now, I think I might be able to offer some of them. Read the whole post…
